weekend at last!
so sorry for the lack of updates for the past few weeks! finally had time to sit down to blog aft i started work! haha actually partially oso cos i tryin to keep myself occupied by goin out so tt dun need to come back hall to find myself sitting in my cosy corner w nth to do. haha
hm okies let me start fr the first day of work! hm technically speakin, it wasn't the first day of work. it was more like an orientation. more accurately speakin, an excursion. haha
was supposed to gather at harbourfront tower on 9th jan at 9am. usu i only take 40 mins to reach. but tt day i gave myself 1hr 15mins cos i din wanan be late on the first day. n guess wat.. tink no matter how hard i try to be punctual i always end up runnin late. sad case la. 35mins buffer le leh!
haahaha cos i was q sway la. tt day had accident on lornie rd n my bus was takin tt route. so of all days, tt day had traffic jam. so in the end when i was like left w 5 mins n abt 15 mins bus ride away fr my detination, i decided to hop off the bus to take a cab. managed to get to the building on the dot to realise i dunno how to get to the office itself. hahaahha aft eploring abit i found my way there only to find tt they decided to start at 915 cos still got a few ppl not there yet.. anw its still gd tt i wasn't tt late i guess. haha
aft some tok abt the company n policies n stuff they brought us to their refinery plants. so off we went on the bus to pioneer rd. had another tok there den a bus tour arnd the plant. kinda interesting to look back on the bus trip now tt i've been to the plant on foot.
went to jurong island to visit the chemical plant aft tt. really like excursion rite. haha. had another tok there den another bus tour in the chem plant. the tourguide was super farny. he started off the trip explaining and bombarding us w the bombastic chem terms until he realised we were all mechanical engineering students n we knew shit abt wat he was tokg abt. den he juz said,'ok i suppose u all dun know wat i'm tokg abt so i'm juz gona shorten it.. in the tank on the right, there is a chemical process. and in the plant on the rite is another chemical process. moving forward at 11 o'clock, tt's another chemical process.' hahaaah so informative sia...
aft tt they dropped us off at jurong east mrt and tt basically sums up my first day at work. aft tt i met shiqi for dinner at westmall. went pastamania. tried their new mango pizza. not bad. aft tt reach hall den bathe n slp. oh ya. i've been slpg at 11pm everyday since i started work. hahaha. ok at least i tried to.
the next day was the day i got to meet my mentor n supe in EM. My supe is the head of my department and he has this amazing way of making me feel dumb. hahaha but aft a few weeks there, i tink he's actually q easy to tok to la. My mentor is oso a nice guy. he's willing to share watever he knows n gives me the guidance tt i need. so gd till now la.
hm they gave me this damn thick file to read on the first day. n i actually dun feel like goin to work on the second day le. hahaa cos it was soo boring! but now better le la. got more stuff to do.more responsibilities. n i like to go on site. cos can see alot of motors n exchangers n stuff in action. hahaa last time only see in pictorial form or in small scale.
n oh! my boss brought us to this jap restaurant at hilltop(near jurong bird park) for lunch. oh man! the food was damn good! but damn ex oso la. n since it was sponsored by the company, we ordered all the damn gd food. had sashimi, king prawns ( it was $40 bucks for 6 prawns i tink.. omg..), salmon n all sorts of yummy stuff. super shiok man! yums yums!!!
the lunch time there is q relax one. by right its 1 hr n u can choose to go anytime between 11 to 1. but sometimes we would juz go out to eat fr 11 to 1. so not bad la! hee. no need to punch card oso so late abit or leave early abit its ok. but usu we'l try to be on time la. haha
i'm glad all my colleagues are all q young. easy to tok to. but young as they seem, alot of them are actually married, gona get married, or pregnant. hahaa so interesting rite.
