amazing
its really amazing how things work. haah
went for dinner with my family juz now. went Botak Jones at amk. n as i was sitting there waiting for my food, i juz suddenly tot of this person. was tinkg might meet him there cos he stays arnd hougang.. so maybe he'l go amk for dinner. which is damn weird y i was tinkg of tt cos hougang is NOT near amk at all... hahha n i oso dunno y of all ppl, i actually tot of him. damn weird la!
n the thing is.. i actually met him there la! so freakingly amazing! hm was tinkg maybe when i was sitting there waiting for my food, he was already somewhere nearby n maybe i subconciously heard his voice n thus i tot of him.. n to tink tt i din wanna go for dinner one cos i actually ate le. but my mum kept insisting tt i go. n my dad wanted to eat at this coffee shop place near my place but no parking so decided to go eat Botak Jones.. everyt seemed planned tt i'l meet him! hm but i'd rather not know the rationale behind all these. hahaha cos its all these unknowns tt make it amazing n beautiful. hahaah
anw i tink the food there really not bad for its price. but the portion is really damn big la..

aft trng went ikea w kiatz. super fun too! i like to walk ikea. ahaha always got alot of interesting stuff. n nice hotdogs!
went this jap restaurant to meet the kelton guys n julin last night. was sort of like a farewell for julin cos she goin for grad trip le. the food there was damn ex la! omfg... but the company was gd. =)

interview
i got to be an interviewer tdy!! hahaah was damn nervous at first. but i the end it turned out to be damn fun. i had to pretend tt i was an engineer in the company. but i tink one of the guys guessed tt i was a student cos he asked some suspicious qns. hahaha he asked wat are our positions in the company. i din know wat to say. n my mentor saved me by saying 'ALL of us are project engineers.' hahaa den aft the interview, the guy asked me for my name.. hahaha n i tink i saw him the next morning at the busstop at my hall.. whahahahaah
hm i learnt quite alot from being an interviewer. i bagan to see the rationale behind the qns tt interviewers ask. everyt oso seems clearer to me cos it was more relaxing as the interviewer.
n i tink the interviews really inspired me. i juz found out wats wrong w the way i work. hahaah.

hectic week
the past week was crazy! but damn fun!
my company was holding some trng thing at swissotel. n i was the facilitator for the trng. took attendance in the morn, coordinate parking coupons, lunch, breaks etc. Helped record the comments that were made during the trng itself. blah blah. but met alot of new ppl n oso alot of ppl met me. hahaha n realised got some really nice ppl arnd. hahaa the food was not bad too. n i got to go hme aft work!
had referee course from tues to fri at SMU. so was v near my workplace. hee. so had work fr 8 to 5. dne referee course fr 630pm to 1030pm.. phew.. tiring man! had the practical on sunday at the beach vball court at clementi. din know there was a beach there. hm anw i itnk i suck at refereeing. hahahaah

taboo
stayed in hall on fri night cos had 55 bbq on sat. went pioneer mall to buy bbq n steamboat stuff w kiatz, des n ww in the aftnoon. aft we reached back to hall, they jioed a game of dota before gettin down to preparing food. hahaa its really amazing how impt gaming is to guys' lives. haahhah
anw, bbq was fun! relaxing w gd company. hee. aft the bbq, marcus decided to jio play 'taboo'. in the end marcus, jael, geoffrey, welly, rong shan n me decided to play. girls vs guys. i tink its such a fun game. hahaa esp when its played w farny ppl. hahaa like welly.
in case u guys dunno how taboo is played, i shall explain here. a rep fr the team is supposed to describe the word on the card without using this list of taboo words found on the card. so for example, the word we supposed to guess is 'Changi Airport', on the card will be a list of taboo words like 'aeroplanes', 'arrival', 'departure' etc.
so it was marcus's turn to describe n welly n geoffery were guessing.
marcus : wat's a woman's best fren?
welly : dogs!
all: ..............
hahahah the ans was 'diamonds'.. n welly said 'aiya i tot woman's best fren n man's best fren the same ma..' WHAHAHAHAAH.
the next word was 'change' i tink..
marcus : aft i come back from work, i 'what' from my old clothes to my new clothes to go out?
Welly : morph!
WHAAAHAAH. hu morphs into new clothes one?!?

A minute of silence.
* readers' discretion advised. long n boring post with vulgarities.*
lets observe a minute of silence and pray for the 2 ppl who lost their lives in this morning's accident.
Got shock when i went to work tdy and the first thing i read in my email was that there had been a fire at PAC this morning at around 1 plus am. n 2 lives had been lost and another 2 injured. Everything felt so surreal.. Altho i dun know them personally, my heart just went out to their families and frens. Juz felt that anyt can happen anytime. one minute u can be standing here tokg n laffing and the next moment you might juz be dead.
Both deceased were contractors. Not too sure of the details but according to this guy from the company, the 4 guys were doin de-blinding when oil rushed out as they removed the blind. the oil caught fire and they could not get away in time..
this guy also said sth which i tot was very true.. normally, for 'abnormal' or extraordinary jobs which involves high risk of injury, we would come up with the potential hazards and steps to mitigate them.. but usually, the injuries and deaths are not caused by these high risks jobs, but during the routine jobs.. jobs which are being carried out day in day out all the time.. we juz get so numb to doin it that we become complacent n forget the risk we're putting our lives in when carrying them out.
This incident just reminds me of how dangerous working in a refinery can be. you're surrounded by hydrocarbon, hydrogen and all sorts of flammable substances. it never really occurred to me until tdy.. i mean, usually i feel quite safe walkin arnd in teh refinery.. so i'm actually putting my life on the line for 1.2k a mth! haaaah ok la kiddin. its fun n interesting ma.
anw, ya.. i'm really q sadden by this incident. =(
n work hasn't been that great either. it sucks when nobody takes me seriously cos i'm juz on attachment. n its starting to take a toll on me. for the past few weeks, all i've been doing is filing, photocopying, printing, setting up the laptop n projector, book mtg rooms, order lunch, blah blah blah.. u get the idea.
initially they tried giving me some stuff to do. but its kinda impossible to complete those stuff when i'm not in the loop of wats goin on cos this contractor guy juz doesn't copy the mails to me cos i'm only an attachment student. not even when my mentor tells him to do so. at first, i tried to get as much information as i can from other sources.. but after awhile, i realised that this method is quite inefficient n more often than not, by the time i found the info, my colleagues would hve already solved the prob. guess my colleagues realised tt too n so they juz decided to solve it themselves. but they felt tt shld give me some stuff to do.. n tt's how i end up becoming like their personal assistants. pui. tmd dulan.
n it doesn't help when they juz tell me to photocopy stuff for them like i'm supposed to be there on attachment to learn how to use the photocopying machine.. hello...i'm not being paid to do tt.. n thanks would be nice too. fucked up. n i'm already being v mild tempered while typing this le. it could hve easily been 2 paragraphs of vulgarities. tt's how pissed off i am.
not entirely their fault oso la. guess part of it is juz me. i hate it when ppl tell me wat to do. especially to do stuff for them when i dun hve to. its juz the attitude and tone they use ba. c'mon man, who the fuck do you tink you are.. if u want me to help u do your stuff den u'l hve to make me respect you first. if not, fuck off.. or juz ask nicely. ok fine. my ego at play here but tt's the way i am.

ok shall not dwell in lousy stuff le. (not like i haven dwelled enough.. hahah) got some interesting stuff oso la.
went for lunch w uncle beng tdy. =) the usual ppl i hve lunch w were not arnd or busy tdy. so Joey accompanied me for a quick lunch before she left to go soemwhere. so aft my quick lunch i went outside the bldg to hve some fresh air (which isn't exactly v fresh considering where i work...)n uncle beng happened to be on his way back fr the refinery. so he jioed me go drink kopi w him. maybe cos i dun work w him, talking to him seems so much easier n relaxing. or maybe cos he's v comical, i oso dunno. but anw, tt 'kopi date' really made my day a million times better. Its weird how sometimes ppl who are not v significant in your life can make your day by doin the smallest things.
hm i went for my first practical lesson ystd n i passed! woohoo! hahaah n its damn fun! n i'm goin for another lesson tmr. hee n maybe i'l pop by my aunt's place tmr to visit my aunt uncle cousin n niece! =)
finally cut my hair. shiokz! i like my new haircut.
i made a lemon tart and my mum says its nice! haha i haven tried it yet. if its really nice, i shall make more n let u guys try. haha
